📢 Are you curious about what insights could be gained by applying network analysis to data in health service research?
We were too!
🎯 We transferred this idea from social science to our domain dealing with care data from hospitals’ electronic health records: using LEP data from maternity care units to map over 240,000 nursing and midwifery activities for 2,346 postnatal cases 🤱 and turn them into care demand networks.
These networks reveal how standardized care bundles and individualized, specialized care patterns actually show up in daily care.
This network perspective opens up 💡new possibilities for understanding care complexity and for developing data-driven, demand-oriented staffing models in maternity care and beyond.
